Scrivener calls time as Vikings coach

Vikings Rugby Coaching Director and First Grade Head Coach Nick Scrivener has announced he will step away from his long-held role at the completion of the 2023 John I Dent rugby season.
Scrivener returned to his hometown and then to coach his home club in 2018 after many seasons offshore as a professional coach of elite teams in both Scotland (Edinburgh) and Japan (Toyota). Those roles had followed long stints with both the Brumbies and Wallabies.
Leading the powerhouse club over the past 6 seasons, Scrivener leaves of his own volition, with a very grateful club in very strong positions on and off field.
Vikings President, Brendan Allardyce reflected on Scrivener’s impact; “Scriv is a favourite son, a Vikings person through and through, having both played and coached in many premierships and club championships with us. He’s been an inspiring leader as our longest serving Coaching Director and his impact and influence over the past 6 years will be felt for many more years. He loves the club and his teaching, leadership, and development of all around him has been first class. He will be missed but we hope when he can, he’ll still be around to cheer us on. All we can really say is thank you, to him, Sharon and their girls and wish them luck with whatever is next”.
The club will soon approach the market and advertise widely to find the next full time Coaching Director to lead the club in 2024 and beyond.
