Vikings Rugby Charity Day – Lifeline Canberra

Vikings Rugby Charity Day – Lifeline Canberra

This Saturday the 3rd of July, we will be hosting our annual Charity Day. In 2021, Vikings Rugby have partnered with Lifeline Canberra for our Charity of the Year initiative.

Lifeline Canberra exists to support people in crisis and save the lives of those experiencing thoughts of suicide. Lifeline’s highly skilled volunteers provide 24/7 support via their local crisis support service on 13 11 14. Telephone crisis support workers listen with care and acceptance, whatever the circumstances. Lifeline Canberra is a leading charity in the ACT, setting the benchmark for suicide prevention and community-wide awareness for mental health advocacy.

We lose a Canberran every week to suicide. Each day Lifeline’s staff and volunteers fight to save the next life.

On Saturday, we will have the following initiatives in place to raise funds for Lifeline:

  • Donation buckets upon entry, and around the ground.
  • Lifeline marquee at the Red Army, where you can purchase raffle tickets to go into the draw to win a VW car, and purchase a Lifeline Canberra beanie.
  • Brumby Jack appearance at Viking Park.
  • Sale of Vikings Rugby stickers, with all proceeds going to Lifeline Canberra.
  • Sale of new Vikings Rugby grey hoodies, featuring Lifeline Canberra number and logo.
  • First Try Scorer competition for 1st Grade.
  • All Vikings Rugby players will be wearing dark blue socks, in support of Lifeline Canberra.

Make sure you get down to Viking Park this Saturday and give generously! For more information on Lifeline Canberra, click here.
