Generation Red Returns in 2021

Generation Red Returns in 2021

Our ‘Gen Red’ program returns for its second season, after a hugely successful inaugural year. Approximately 100 players registered to play in the Boys and Girls U16 and U18 programs, making it one of the biggest in the ACT.

Gen Red is a joint initiative by the Vikings Juniors and Seniors Rugby Clubs. The program aims to retain and recruit new boys and girls to Vikings Rugby, and provide a clearly identified pathway from Junior to Senior Rugby.

Plans are well underway for Gen Red 2021, with Head Coaches appointed to the following teams:

  • U16 Boys – Cobus Wentzel
  • U16 Girls – Reinhold Kamilo
  • U18 Boys – Dan Solofa & Anthony Davies
  • U18 Girls – Andrew Henderson

Our coaches are well supported by current Vikings Senior players, who dedicate their time twice a week to guide our younger players through training and share their expertise.

Training will commence at the start of March – stay connected to our website and Facebook for more information on days and times. All new and existing players from the U16 – U18 age groups are encouraged to attend.

Players in our Gen Red program receive free registration*, coaching from highly qualified and experienced coaches, training kit, playing shorts and socks and the opportunity to use the impressive facilities at Viking Park.

Registration for Gen Red is now open, so all interested players should download the Rugby Xplorer app on their smart phone or visit the Rugby Xplorer home page to complete their registration.

For any enquiries on registration, please contact the Vikings Rugby Office.

*Gen Red players will need to pay their registration costs up front. All rego fees will be reimbursed to the player by the conclusion of the playing season, should the player meet the expectations outlined to them for full reimbursement.
