Three Faingaa brothers battle it out in CA Brumbies vs. Queensland Reds clash
In what is believed to be a Super 14 first, three brothers, twins Saia and
Anthony (both Qld) and Colby Faingaa (CA Brumbies) have started in the same
Super 14 match at the same time.
To make it even more interesting, the three brothers are all current or former Vikings players.
To add a further twist to the story, Saia and Anthony were joined in the Reds side by another former Viking, Jack Kennedy.
If that were not enough of a coincidence right there, Colby was also joined in the CA Brumbies side by current and former Vikings, Ed Stubbs, Huia Edmonds and Mark Chisholm.
Given a different set of circumstances, the Vikings presence on the field could have been much greater, except that current and former Vikings Christian Lealiifano and Francis Fainifo were both out injured.
In total seven (7) current or former Vikings took the field on Saturday night, with two more on the injured list watching from the players dugout.
The Vikings are obviously very proud of the achievements of all of these players and regardless of the impact on our playing stocks will continue to encourage players to achieve higher honours and fulfil their rugby dreams.
