18 Feb Vikings Rugby Fiji Tour
The Vikings have a proud history of affording our players international experiences through our unique Rugby Tours. From the 29th of February to the 8th of March, the Club will be touring Fiji with a select group of players to play two matches against local Fijian rep sides, participate in training camps for preseason and immerse themselves in a foreign culture through village visits and local activities.
In the past, the Vikings have travelled to New Zealand, Singapore, several other countries in Asia and even domestically to different parts of Australia. Rugby Tours allow the playing group to bond on and off the field and ensure success in the forthcoming season. Following our 2018 Tour of Singapore, the Vikings featured every Grade in the Grand Final, winning three of those finals (1st Grade, Colts, Womens). Players also develop cultural awareness through exposure to foreign customs; the Club has organized activities on our Fiji Tour that will benefit the country visited such as community service initiatives.
The touring party will feature a mix of 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, Colts and Lower Grade players, coaches, managers, medical support staff and our Major and Platinum Sponsors.
A special thank you to our Major Tour Partners, NCG Services, Carlton & United Breweries and Capital Maintenance Solutions – without their support, our touring party simply wouldn’t be afforded this unique and exciting experience. NCG and Carlton will also be continuing their support as sponsors of our 2020 John I Dent Cup campaign – thanks for your generosity, team!
