29 Aug Modified Rugby and the ‘Be the Best You Can Be’ Sports Day
The Modified Rugby Program (MRP) are back in Canberra on the 18th of September for the ‘Be the Best You Can Be’ Sports Day, as we look to kick off the program at Vikings this Summer. The MRP is a world first, modified version of touch-only rugby, that runs for 10 weeks and is tailored to boys and girls with learning and perceptual disabilities. The aim of the program is to bring these boys and girls off the sideline, providing them a platform to enjoy the game of rugby.
The ‘Be the Best You Can Be’ Sports Day will be held at the AIS Track & Field on Tuesday the 18th of September, targeting primary and high school aged children with physical and intellectual disabilities. The students, who will be accompanied by teachers, carers and parents, will participate in a variety of different sports to learn new skills, be a part of a wider community and just have fun. The MRP is one of the sports offered at this fantastic event.
We are looking for several volunteers to assist the Team from the MRP deliver the program to the participants at the Sports Day – if you are interested in getting involved in a program that is unique to the ACT and will put a smile on so many faces, please contact Rugby Manager Ryne Bowden on email@example.com.
Let’s ensure Rugby reaches everyone in our Community!
